It’s time for your semi-annual update of The Fun-Sized Viking’s Top 10″. In this week’s installment we visit France, which Paola and I recently visited for the second time.
One of the most amazing places on earth, Paris never ceases to amaze me. Everywhere you walk, everywhere you turn is a piece of history. Paola and I decided to revisit since we had such a magical trip the first time around; beautiful architecture, historic sites and food which I daydream about, what’s not to love? Our trip consisted of The Catacombs, Opera de Paris, The Marais District and a day trip to Normandy (which were some excursions we didn’t get around to on our first trip). We also revisited Versailles and the Louvre. Check out my top 10 from France.
1- Normandy American Cemetery
2- Omaha Beach
3- Catacombs de Paris
4- St. John the Baptist by Leonardo da Vinci (The Louvre)
5- Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci (The Louvre)
6- Hall of Mirrors
7 – Chateau de Versailles
8 – Palais Garnier
9- Rue du Roi Doré (Space Invader)
10- Notre Dame de Paris
Bonus:
Did I forget to mention that our return flight got canceled and we wound up having to spend two nights in Iceland? Yeah I thought so. It wound up working out for us as we spent our time in Keflavik City. We wandered around town and even visited a Viking Museum. We can’t wait to go back.
